We specialize in High Performance and "Green" design which allow the homeowner or builder to maximize the energy efficiency, comfort and long term sustainability of their home. We have combined design experience of over forty years in the industry.

Smith Newkirk Drafting and Design is a member of the Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builders Association, the National Association of Home Builders, the US Green Building Council and the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance. We have received diplomas from the NCSU College of Engineering in Renewable Energy Technologies and the Green Building Technologies with an emphasis in Design & Implementation Strategies for Residential Green Buildings. We carry the NAHB Certified Green Professional designation and can offer consultation on the NAHB National Green Building Standard, Energy Star certification, NC Healthy Built Homes certification and LEED for Homes certification.
